I changed the fluid in the rear diff, front diff and transfer case. Simple but messy.

Also got new tires and an alignment. I have one more thing to fix, ****** cooler line, and then I think I'm done. Knock on wood.

Not working on the Jeep per se, but started organizing the garage/workshop that has been a pile of boxes since we moved. Getting better access to all my tools and supplies will make Jeep work easier.

I have been getting a 0065 code - on and off - for awhile on my 2003 Libby 45RFE. It wud come and go and i wud get the airbag light. The light wud go out the next stop/start. So I decided last week to buy a new impact sensor. The image was of a new mopar unit. The price seemed realistic. What I received was a TRW part with the mopar part number as the serial number. I knew right then it was not a real mopar part. I put it in anyway, erased the code and then started the engine and the error code immediately popped up. I took it out and put the old one in then put the new one in 3 times. The same result. So, now i still have the old one in and sent the new ”TRW” mopar part back. The old one has not given me the error code. Maybe by resetting it and resetting the connector helped, but will keep an eye on it, but will get a real mopar impact sensor, IFF needed.

What’s the full code, including the letter? P, U, etc.
The code from my obdii inova reader was 0065 - right front impact sensor internal diagnostics. So i ordered one which is the same as the left side. There was no P or U precursor to the 0065.

That’s interesting. Ok, if replacing the sensor has no effect, the next thing to check would be the continuity in the wiring. Maybe a wire is broken, rusted through, or grounding out.

I will keep an eye on it for now. The wiring is in a bundle and the connector is fine. It cud be that the sensor itself is on the fringes of going bad. Maybe pick up another OEM sensor used or new and give it a go.

My Jeep didn’t smell great when I bought it. The PO didn’t smoke in it, but an owner before them probably did. They also ate like little piggies in there.

I bought a cheap ozone generator and gave the Jeep a 30 minute dose on Sunday. That helped but didn’t totally fix it. Today I soaked it for another 45 minutes. That seems to have really helped. I’ll know more tomorrow.

So to follow up on the ozone treatment, the car smells way better. It’s not the miracle cure the reviews would have you believe, but it is measurably better. It was worth buying, but I think it is something I’ll have to do a couple of more times. No big deal; it takes less than a hour.

I also had to remove the water pump, put a new gasket on it, and reinstall it. I should have done it when I had the timing cover off. Live and learn.

It’s going to get fresh gas to ight on my way home from work. I have some cedar planters in it I made, so the jeep smells fabulous.

If it keeps looking at me the way it does, I’m gonna cut the muffler out and act like I’m back in high school…

I ordered a catback exhaust for a deeper sound on the Liberty and a cold air intake by K&N...

I repaired one of the transmission oil cooler lines that was seeping up near the radiator. What pain in the ass. Took me forever to get the old hose section off. I was using a dremel with those exploding cut off wheels and an oscillating tool to cut through the factory clamp. If you don’t cut through that clamp where it forms over the end of the hose, you ain’t gettin’ that hose off.

Putting a new section on and clamping it took 10 minutes tops. Here’s a pic of the new hose section.

While doing this, 2 things happened. 1) I had to move that radiator hose to get to the ****** line. It was easier to just unbolt the thermostat housing and of course, the seal on the old thermostat wouldn't hold back the water anymore, so I also bought a new thermostat. 2) You lose a little ****** fluid when you remove the hose and I saw it was more brown than red so now I know what my next job will be.

Jeep got new front flex lines as one started to leak, sway bar bushes, and an O2 sensor. Had to make a short section of brake line as the stock fitting didn't want to turn independently of the line :(

Replaced the resistor pack on the blower motor. I didn't have Speed 1. Now I do.

I didn't go the Chrysler Sebring upgrade route. I bought this instead off Amazon.

I bought a serpentine belt a while back of the same brand (A-Premium) off Amazon and it was very well made and packaged. Likewise, with this. I think it'll be fine.

More backcountry exploring yesterday to try and find some old steam donkeys in the bush from way back when. Found both donkeys - still in good shape for being over 100 years old.

That's some 100 year old firewood still stacked up next to the donkey.

This magneto's magnets still worked - were holding on a few of the small rectangle bits that had rusted off.
