Welcome. Never heard of anyone installing a L foot brace.
It is already a fairly tight space, & I run with the Weather Tech Digital fit liner.
In the salty pic you can see the outline of my left shoe print up top there.
I wish I had much more leg room, & a wider space.
You must be registered for see images attach

On long trips I make it work. I do move the feet around as it's often set with cruise control On.

Years ago 2005-2006 or so someone tried to modify one from a Wrangler, By the time they got it in , then no where to put your left foot but on it which they found uncomfortable
Never seen the need or inclination that any more room was needed really
And that is with running from Ohio down to Orlando , just stopping for gas ( never even shutting the 04 off ) in one shot
Plus ran every two weeks for 2 years from Toledo Ohio to Boston MA , never needing more room

But then I must have tiny feet or something and don't need the extras ;)

My left ankle hurts anytime I drive for more than a few minutes. My solution is to just make sure and move my left leg around frequently.

When I picked up my RHD 2002 Export CRD manual I straight away realized that there was no place to put my left....clutch...foot while on the open road.

I had a good look at the Bellhousing in that area.....took a section of plank and with a massive hammer knocked a nice ledge into the Bellhousing from inside the cabin.

Works well!:)

Next trip over to Tanzania I'm going to try to do the same thing to our Toyota we keep over there, my left foot is always searching for a spot to rest when driving " on the wrong side " ;)

I wouldn't mind a support for old lefty. I put one in my baja bug, it was great to hold yourself in the seat when jumping or other silliness. I don't drive the kj quite the same way, but it'd still be nice.

Sorry to resurrect old thread, but…

I read that some Libby’s did come with a dead pedal. I’d sure like one. As @duderz7 said, I miss the ones in my VWs and still try to tap my foot to switch on the high beams…

I see the premium floor mats come with the option for a dead pedal.
Sure I can easily fabricate and install one, but I’d rather buy an OE or third party one.

They really do increase comfort on long drives and rough terrain for us tall lanky types!

Anyway, anyone ever find one?

Never heard or seen any dead pedals in any KJ or KK

Yeah, is weird. I can’t find anything on them, yet Weathertech asks…export only perhaps? Heck, weathertech did the pan mats for my transition year 58 VW…so fairly certain they wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t a thing!

It's been number of years since I tried that. Purchased a wrangler dead pedal and tried to install it in a Liberty. I found nothing but sheet metal where I was going to place it and it wouldn't tighten up enough, gave up and threw the whole thing in the trash.
