Alignment appointment scheduled for Monday at 2pm, its gonna need it. The caster is off, steering is unpredictable and doesn't return to center. Normal things when lifting a Jeep, had the same issue with my 91 Cherokee.

Alignment fixed, the psycho steering is gone and it's drivable again. Got some new tires put on 245/70R17, measure about 30.5". I'll have to do some clearance on the inner fender liners and the pinch weld.

Edit: typoed the inches on the tire size.

Due a very small lift , trying to run too tall of a tire then yes you will have to pound over the pinch welds in front
are you regearing to offset the loss from the larger tires at least ?
If you are really going to go off road, you need smaller tires or more lift

One other thing , left front, measure from middle of the wheel ( hub area ) to bottom of the flare for me, Thank you

It's a 2WD KJ, I only did a small lift for looks. It will not be taken offroad (I have an XJ for that, I'll explain below), and the slightly larger tire size was to correct the speedometer which was 6% fast (and make it look meaner). This was a free vehicle given to me by my father, and it ended up becoming my daily driver. Hub to fender DF when it was stock was about 18.5" (factory is 19" IIRC), it was sitting at about 21" after the lift got installed. It has settled a bit I'll measure again once it warms up today, I need to grab some more pictures of it anyways.

I have a 91 Cherokee on 6" of lift with 32"s for offroading and crawling, it's got a blown motor and waiting for a transplant currently, which is sitting in my garage collecting dust. HP D30 in front, D35 with LSD in rear, both are stock gears at 3.55, AW4 trans, NP242 tcase. I have a 29 spline 8.25 geared the same and an NP231 waiting to go in as well.

I'm in my late 30's and been modifying cars for the better part of 2 decades, lowering this, lifting that. Wife says I can't keep a vehicle stock for more than about 6 months before I get the itch.

When I bought my 04 ( brand spanking new off the lot ) mods began the next day,
before it was even close to 20,000 miles ( less than 5 months old ) it had been lifted with a full spring lift

Now to yours , tires way to big for that small of a lift, it will keep going down , with the soft , sagged out stock springs
Plus harder on your transmission without a regear to 4.10s
Front stock springs are only rated at 310 lbs, should of been 345 for the KJs , so they just sag bad
I'm almost 67 and have been modifying 4X4s for over 42 years

I appreciate the information and the wisdom, always nice to get assistance from the "old-timers" of a community, thank you.

I think you are still going off my Typo on the Tire size, I accidently put that the tires are 31.5", they are 30.5" which is only an increase of 1.5" diameter from what was stock. As for the "sagging" springs, those will be replaced some time this year, it was added to the list after I started this thread. I knew I'd be needing to do struts at least, added springs after your first reply.

04 brand new off the lot, and you still own it, nice. Sounds like you have gotten more than your moneys worth out of it.
