Actually the new Maxlife isn't Dexos, Dexos is now all synthetic.

Not true,we have over 500 gallons of non-synthetic Dexos sitting at work and all delivered in the last week from the local supplier.

We have non-syn Dexos,syn-blend Dexos,and full syn Dexos from 0w-20 to 3w-30.

I thought Dexos was just more GM bullsh#t. Some companies will pay for the "certification" and some won't. I hate GM by the way...

Damn, didn't know that. I thought they had to be synthetic for all the new rice cooker engines. :happy175:

You can also read in those GM owners manuals that it is okay to use non-Dexos oil and the only oil needed is SN rated oil.

^ In other words, as long as you got oil in the crankcase you are good to go!

From what I understand GM wanted a more robust oil specification over ILSAC GF-5- that would provide better wear characteristics, and offer a cleaner engine, with good fuel economy.
Dexos will soon be in 2nd place, after the 2019? introduction of GF-6 -GM will have to update!
