Had to clean the throttle plate again, tight at pedal & feels like it is binding a bit...

Coming from the Euro scene I can't stand the yellow side markers and turn signal lense so I smoked them, I had my others painted but I think this does the job for this rig. Also removed the hood badge and added the short off road billet antenna. Got some black trail rated badges coming in. Just a few small things to make it my own.

Tried to run two different tails yesterday. Turned around to get away from some snow pack and ended up running into more. But could actually see dirt on the other side. Decided to use the winch on my friends TJ to get us both through. And on the other side there was just another patch of un-passable snow. But it was fun and worth it. And it lets me know it is still going to be a little while till the trails are going to be passable. On a side note I made the bracket to mount my jerry can holder for the sing gate using the existing holes. I will start another thread to show off what I built.

Yesterday: Changed the oil, oil filter, and air filter. The old oil came out blacker than I have seen before. Hmmm... The air filter I took out still looked brand new, even after nearly 15,000 miles. I saved it in case I blow through a really dusty area at some point and want to get it changed quick.

Today: Made a 300-mile round trip to Pittsburgh and back to...shop at Ikea. Me and the future Mrs. had a lot of fun. Spent a grand total of $13, which after buying $4,200 worth of furniture yesterday for the new house was a relief. :happy175:

I'm surprised you had any Cash left to do the oil change!
I've never quite figured out why on the dipstick it does not look that brown, yet when you pull the drain plug, it looks like black slime LOL..
How many miles on the old oil did you have, mainly city or combo there Prof?
Did you change oil brands by chance/better cleaning properties?

I discovered one burnt rear bulb, so today I replaced all the rear brake light bulbs into LL Sylvania's. Kept a few as e-spares.

Getting ready to measure the width and depth of the Liberty cargo area with seats down to see if we can use it to haul our new bedroom furniture back from our closest IKEA (also 300 mile round trip). :)

I think I only need to be concerned about the 2 longest pieces (bookshelf side pieces and the mirror).

Listened to my Friend/Mechanic complain about every bolt being cross threaded on the ****** removal! He finally got it out and tapped the threads. guess he had to wield sockets on to a couple bolt to get them out! It took a little longer than expected but I imagine it'll go in a little easier. It was a debate on paying him to do it or doing it myself, sounds like I made the right decision!
He tells me that it was a rebuilt ****** (Certified Transmission tag), that it appeared to him that fluid wasn't circulating as he found old fluid in the cooler lines and still fresh fluid in the pan.
He also indicated that the motor was a rebuilt with a "Jasper" tag. I might have to give them a call and see if I can get some info on the date and mileage when the rebuild was done!

Just a little comparison - 4" JBA Coilover lift on my Liberty vs. 2 1/2" Terraflex lift + JKU Rubicon springs & shocks on my wrangler. They both have approx. the same size tires and as you can see ground clearance is almost identical.

Let me know how you like these. I sprung for the WeatherTech front and rear and not sure if I needed to. The bucket design is very nice, I am a professional dog trainer so catching all the hair is what I need.

I've had the full set of Huskys for about 7 years. Front/rear/cargo. They work really well, my carpet looks new.

Make sure he either replaces the cooler (if separate) or flushes the cooler (if in the radiator) to make sure fluid circulates after the rebuild.

Got the Liberty back from having the head gaskets replaced and installed the wife's spare tire cover and WeatherTech mats (Christmas presents). Getting the remote start install scheduled next.

Here's a tip: Pry out the trim at the bottom of the door jamb and make sure the WeatherTech's are under it when you replace it. It covers the seam between the two. :waytogo:

Me, too. :Insane:

...How many miles on the old oil did you have, mainly city or combo there Prof?
Just over 3,000. 95% of which were city driving.

Did you change oil brands by chance/better cleaning properties?...
Nope. Been Castrol GTX for some time and the same amount of Marvel Mystery Oil in the gas tank as I usually use.
