So the first thing is what looks like a module for an alarm or remote start but the truck is a 5spd and only has factory fobs. The top box was covered with some dynamat or something to hold it in place and the wires come from or go to another separate box under metal brace for center console. I couldn't get a pic but I did notice a chrysler diamond on the top box. Please help me figure it out!

Next was a random white plug sitting under the console that didn't go to anything. Is this for heated seats? Can I just add them if it is infact wiring for that? Would the rest of the vehicle be pre-wired for it?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

The yellow connector and location make me think airbag module, but I'm not positive.. have luckily not needed to take out my center console or dash yet.

I thought that at first also but one....they do not come in plastic housings and two...they are secured pretty well to the vehicle from the factory. The box on the top was first secured with a small piece of velcro and when that didn't work too well is when they just smothered it with the dynamat. Really hope someone can help with this! I just want to know what it is before I start messing with accessories inside the truck.

just fix the clutch first. :D

also, that doesn't look like any aftermarket plug I've ever seen, especially for an alarm or remote start.

I am going to tear into this tonight. I want to know what it is. I scored a new evic and audio controls today so I will be in the wiring mindset!

But does anyone here know what that white plug goes to? Anyone? Bueller?

I don't remember exactly what the part is it goes to but the white connector goes to the automatic shifter which is probably why yours is not being used as you have a manual. It was on what looked like an actuator or solenoid of some kind.

That makes complete sense...thanks very much for that info!

Now for the other part...I ripped everything apart and I was right. It does have a Chrysler part number and when I googled it it said something like wire jumper and other links suggested air bag module. It is not normal and is definitely an add on and I wonder if it has anything to do with the 02 to 03 model changes because my rig is an early built vehicle of 01/03.
The part number was 68196764AC.

So the trans is going back together now. I will say thank god my vehicle is clean! Some parts of the job were a little bit of a pain. Also....I was asking about clutches from Sachs and I guess I got my answer! Also..I got really lucky that the whole disc did not grenade and just material came off. Flywheel had some glazing that I went over with some 180 grit cloth but no blueing.

Edit....also replaced the Luk throw bearing with a better product. The plastic definitely looks designed for a very short term use!

that's an impressive clutch disc failure.

Interesting! My first thought was to ask what would be better than LUK? But now that I "VERY" quickly searched, I see what the issue is.

Well I finished the clutch. I also installed my steering controls and EVIC! If you remember I stated that I had never driven this vehicle and also had absolutely no clutch so this thing would roll no matter what gear I was in or what was selected in the transfer case. Well...Now that I have a functional clutch I just learned that I need to replace the upper rear control arm. DAMN IT!!! Squeaks like it is nobody's business!

Only replace the rear tri-link with MOPAR , the cheaper ones do not hold up well at all. I can go through them in 3 months or less.

Yeah I actually read a few posts from you about that. But one question I have is ....if My bar doesn't have any corrosion can I just press in new joints?

Doesn't matter if rusted or not. Seen one that was rust free and still crushed it
But you can always try . What bushing are you going to try and use

I run this, works great
You must be registered for see images attach

WHOA WHOA WHOA!!! What is that? I did not see that anywhere! Write up? Any fab work to install it? How comfortable is it for DD use?

EDIT: I just read all the threads about it. Why hasn't someone done a group buy on these and manufactured them? Why doesn't JBA make them?

EDIT#2: I also read that road noise is transferred much more with this set up. Is this true as well? I really do appreciate your help by the way!

EDIT#3!: I just found all the info I was looking for so please forget the other stuff but my one last question is about durability. How much better does this hold up compared to oem? Will this last longer?
