Hello everybody.

My 2006 3.7 liberty (auto trans) is about to recieve a transmission cooler - however I have noticed something strange -

sure - it has a factory transmission cooler - much similar to this one
Auto Trans Oil Cooler Dorman 918-222 fits 05-07 Jeep Liberty | eBay

But it also has ANOTHER cooler- its very small - almost hard to notice - if I open the hood I can see a very slim cooler - about 7 inches long- its shape is like a matchbox- it's located on the right hand side of the engine bay - in front of the radiator- behind the front bumper. it has 2 rubber hoses leading to it from the transmission area. its mounted on a factory bracket and it has 2 rubber hoses attached to its upper part.

this is the cooler - sorry for the bad quality - pic was taken through the front grill

What is it? some kind of additional cooler? for what? transmission? motor oil? it does not look like an aftermarket cooler.

and- due to the fact that im installing a LARGE trans cooler- should i unplug it and attach the LARGE trans cooler instead?

thanx
