Hi All.

I am going to be replacing my power steering rack along with all hoses and possibly the pump as well. That being said...I have a few questions:

A) Does anyone have a recommendation as far as brand/refurb/etc for the power steering rack? Would I be good to just get all the parts from NAPA?

B) I need to be sure of the parts list that I need. This is what I have:

1) Rack and Pinion
2) Outer Tie Rod Ends (don't want to reuse old)
3) 1 pressure hose
4) 1 return hose
5) Pump

Is that everything I need?

Thank you.

Sound like you are on the right track.
Use the Rock Auto A1-Cardone RACK #22362 currently $305 and find a discount coupon number for further discount.
Jayme's post you may find helpful. Link: http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/f202/how-steering-rack-replacement-48537/
As far as Rod ends, pump, hoses, I would try to use local supplier & not pay shipping etc.
I will let others comment for you on those accessory parts.

I went with a remanned unit from Detroit Axle - $125 and free shipping on the new/remanned unit and to return the core. Hasn't leaked, doesn't squeal and was here in two days.

They get my vote :waytogo:

I like that price a lot. How long has it been installed?

You'll need crow foot wrenches. I think it was 18mm.
also don't forget about new o-ring for the pressure sensor.

Would love to find some polyurethane bushings if someone could point them out to me. Don't want to have to replace the new ones at 45k miles.

when I changed my lines, I read one of Tommudd's advice to get the O-ring from MOPAR which I did.

I think the high pressure line would come with o-ring for the sensor as well.
I would think a new pressure sensor would come with one too.
