Super Skink fitment issue

I'm in the process of putting on the rails, and the bracket that bolts to the frame is giving me problems. The top hole on the front and back bracket is in a position where it's drilling though the frame then like a steel frame channel, I'm having problems drilling thought that, already broke one 5/16" bit. So that leaves me with a few questions....

1. Could I leave those two bolts out?
2. If not, should I try drilling a hole someplace else on the bracket? To where I could get through the frame easier?

You could probably leave it out.
Takes a good bit and angle drill

Forgot to mention, these mounts are different than what is in the directions....the directions look like this:

[0 0]
[ 0 ]

(Roughly)

Mine look like:

[0 ]
[ 0] roughly.

So that would be one bolt per bracket. Is that ok?

Mmmm, only one bolt per bracket would worry me. Doesn't seem like that's enough to secure it properly to the frame rail.

Is there another spot on the bracket that is large enough to accept a bolt? If so, does that put the hole in the frame at a better spot?

When drilling, putting a bit of light household oil on the tip of the drill bit helps to keep it cool and cutting well. That's what I had to do when I drilled mine - I had a total of 11 bolts to drill in the frame rail on each side. Had to get a second bit as the first was toast after the first 11 holes :emotions133:

Sounds like you got the "frame" plates to high.The back plate sound be level with the bottom of the "frame".The "frame" end of the sliders just stabilizes the sliders.

I only run 1 bolt per plate but there 1/2" bolts that go all the way through with crush sleeves due to the SFA frame stiffeners.

So is the general consensus I should add another bolt somehow?

I thought self tapping bolts were used for the frame?

As for the self tap....a hole is needed and this is like drilling into a steel block.

Here's a real pic of the bracket...the one in the directions is like a 3 hole rectangle. This one has two holes and the top one is the one that lines up with the "steel block".

Just redrill the "frame" end holes in the correct locations after setting the sliders in the correct spots,no need to do anything with the pinchweld bolts as the sliders will pivot.
