Hey everyone, I have just landed myself a silver 2004 Cherokee (KJ) with a lovely 19k on the clock. Its a whole new world and any help / reassurance from you guys would be appreciated greatly!
ITs due for a service and after deliberating I have decided to use an independent garage instead of a main dealer. A garage had been recommended by a neighbour who has his voyager serviced by them. Question, is there anything I should be aware of things to be carried out during the service?
The Jeep is booked into a main dealer for its final recall job..(ball joints).
There is one more quick question, I hear some kind of motor noise coming from the rear of the cabin while the engine is running and I can hear it power down when the engine is turned off, WTF is that, is it normal???

PS. Is the whurring from the steering natural when turning the wheel in a stationary position?

Thanks again peeps, fantastic forum!!!

welcome to JKJC! and yes the whurring is just the power steering pump, its the same deal with any hydraulic pump, with more of a load on the components it makes a bit of noise nothing to be alarmed about. as for service issues i have an 06 with 70,000 miles on it and no major issues just take of ur jeep and itll take care of you.
