I am sure glad that we have a regular throttle cable:) not fly by wire, after the latest news today/Toyota fiasco.
Could the KK's fly by wire be effected by Electromagnetic problems??
http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/2010-02-03-electromagnetic03_ST_N.htm
Accelerates with brakes applied: http://www.freep.com/article/20100128/BUSINESS01/1280424/1331/
Do not see any listing for Chrysler vehicles listed as having these issues.
Anyone know if KK's have braking safety measures in place like BMW or Mercedes for example?

Throttle Cable or Drive By Wire ('07s have that btw), doesn't matter. The point here is that Toyota screwed up, and the pedal in my WK and the KJ, supplied by CTS, the same supplier for Toyota works fine.

The common denominator here seems not to be the gas pedals.

It is something deeper than that.
ThunderbirdJunkie has his own theories.

BTW who wants to buy a Paseo?

The FBW in my Ram seems to work just fine. Nice thing about it, when you hit the speed limiter (before I removed it :D) it was a smooth process, the throttle just stops going any further. In our KJ you hit that magical 105 mark and it starts bucking (before anyone starts, I don't normally drive it that fast, but I top end every vehicle I get just to see what it is capable of). That's when i told my wife she couldn't go that fast. She was pissed lol.

The problems with Toyotas isn't just related to the pedal design, it's also the electronics and software. Though Toyota won't admit to that yet.

For the past 3-4 years Toyota concentrated on quantity instead of quality. My neighbor has a 2009 corolla and my god it's cheaply made. Cheapo flimsy plastics. Just give the bumper a slight kick and it falls off lol.

Never been a fan of Asian cars...never will be.

Is it wrong that ThunderbirdJunkie is aroused by Toyota's woes?

I'm not "aroused" by their woes per say, but I sure do revel in it. I'm so tired of hearing so many people go on about how they'll never buy an American car again, like you're so dumb and they are so smart.

Now their cars are breaking AND they need a job. Zero sympathy.

Somewhere between being sane and insane!

Yours only tops out at 105mph? Mine cuts out at 114mph(I also top speed test every vehicle at least once, scary in a Jeep, fun in a muscle car).
