Most aftermarket electric fans(Flexalite) will outflow a OEM electric and mechanical fan combined.Also if you have a flex fan they push almost zero CFM's after a certain RPM anyway.

think about what it does

it pulls air based off of engine speed up to about 2500 RPM then free spins
last I checked highway speed in a KJ ,65 mph, puts it at about 2500 rpm
this would make it point less

Ever driven a jeep with the 42RLE?. 2500= ~80 maybe more

The Mech. Fan is more in play during low speed with more than typical RPM's anyway

Yeah thats true. I just assumed we were talking about the stock cooling since thats what the thread starter was asking about.

Sure a mechanical fan will pull real good up to 2500 rpm
but it pulls very little at 800 rpm
The electric fan will pull max cfm even with the engine
off
install an electric water pump and you could cool your engine
with it turned off

Just FYI
I have 2 fans on my TJ
oem mechanical and an 8" electric for the trans
but when I put the cooler on the power steering
it will cool tha also

Your coolant still circulates even after you turn the engine off as long as the t-stat is still open,not real fast but still moves until the t-stat closes.

This was discussed in length on another forum and if you install
an electric fan and water pump along with an adjustable t-stat for the fan but relay the water pump off of it then you could cool your engine after you make a long hard climb with it off
