What snow we got this year, I was in it. Mostly in 2WD. OEM tires are usually crap. As bad as they are the GY Wrangler STs you buy in a store might be better than the Wrangler STs supplied to Jeep. I bought Firestone Destination L/Ts in the stock size. They seem aggressive enough for some off road but I haven't done it. They really improved the ride and handling. And they are great in rain, snow and icy mix conditions.

Don't worry about the OT tire discussion, i'm the OP on this thread and deeply interested!!

I could start a new thread on tires but just about everyone is here already.. LOL

I have to consider some tires before winter, the ones on there have enough tread left to get me through the summer but come fall they are gone!

Right now i'm looking at three choices, due to price and local availability...

Firestone Destination
Yokohama Geolander
Kumho Road Venture

Each brand has some pros and cons for me.

Firestone, about a 25 mile drive to get them and the local dealer that has them is overpriced.
Yokohama, about a 7 mile drive and the price is right, regular order, 2-3 days.
Kumho, about a 7 mile drive and the price is right, but they are special order so a delay.

That's a good list!!! Given the circumstances, I'd go with the Yoko's...:)

Yeah i'm leaning towards to Yoko's...

He said he has one Geolander on hand in the shop, i might swing down there later today or tomorrow and have a look at one in person.

The Kumho's have gotten good reviews online on a few websites selling them so i'm holding them as a backup brand.

I like the look of the Firestone's but the cheapest i can find them locally is $124 a tire, and then that place charges $6 a tire for mounting and balancing. So $130 each all said and done!!

I can get the Yoko's for $89.00 each plus $5 each for mounting and balancing at the closer shop. $94 a tire is a lot better! He said they are Geolander AT-S, is that different? All the posts on here mention the AT but not the AT-S. Tire designators are confusing!

The Kumho's i can get for $96 each, plus $5 each, so $101 each. The Yoko's are still the cheapest.

Wow, that is good pricing for all the tires you listed. Compared to British Columbia, Canada.

Ok, I'm letting the cat out of the bag, the five Goodyear Wrangler MT/R with Kevlar I just ordered, including mounting, balancing, valve stems, and Provincial tire disposal fee's, Provincial Sales tax and Federal Goods and Services tax.
$325.63 per tire!
I'm into them for $1,628.15!

We get nailed on everything we buy here( cept maple syrup lol) because 90% of the stuff we get comes from the US anyway. So when people told me before to just get whatever for my lift, they have no idea what it would actually cost me to get that stuff up here.

PS: 800th post :D

Ok guys thanks for confirming on the AT-S. I saw those tires listed two ways online, just AT, and then AT-S, and the weird way the tire companies keep moving designators around i just wanted to be sure. I remember helping a buddy find tires for his Durango, ATS, ATR, ATL, i was just like what??

Oh i saw some Grabber AT2's at the local tire shop.. DROOL... They are some nice looking tires, about like what i had on my old Chevy out on the farm, that truck would go anywhere.

Yeah i feel sorry for you guys putting up with that crap.

I sell on eBay and it costs a lot to ship up there, for example a standard USPS Flat Rate box in the USA is $10.85 up to 70lbs. The same exact box to Canada is over $25 and only up to 20lbs!! And then there is duties and such on it when it gets up there. I normally mark it gift or a lower value to give the guys a break, i know its not right to do that on the customs form but i don't want to sell a dude a $100 item and then he has to pay a quarter of that again to claim it.

What is the conversion rate, or is that converted to US dollars? With permission to keep the tire brand questions rolling, anyone use or hear any good things about the Bridgestone Dueller A/T's? I'm thinking by the descriptions they are more for off road use. But I don't know enough about it.

It's a pretty good tire from what I've heard. But, it's a lot more expensive than the Yoko's or Grabbers.:)

I had the AT revos on my 2wd F250
they are a great road tire but they really will get stuck in wet grass
and it was not because the rear is lighter than the front
this truck was 3500+ on the front and about 5200+ on the rear ,work truck with lots of tools
They just spin on top and dont even try to dig in
