Found these under the seats today--passenger and driver's side front seats that is. Looks like some kind of wiring harness or something. Sorry the picture's so blurry--cell phone lol.

Do you have power seats??? If it's not that, I'll have to guess it's air bag related.....

My 03' has those also, discovered them while doing some work on it. One is the Seatbelt switch as it goes to the belt latch, so that it knows you latched your belt, and the other one seems to be for the airbag system or something. I haven't dug into my service manual yet to double check.

There's a weight sensor on the passengers side seat to let the BCM know to turn on the airbag(pass) or leave it shut off. The other would be seat belt related.

Hmm. Well since I don't have power seats I'm leaving that out. I was just kind of wondering xD

yup I think ur right, those are the "smart airbags" that shut them selfs off if there's not enough weight for an adult or something like that, its for safety with small children

I think theyre both weight sensors. The passenger side sensor turns airbags on and off and chimes for you to put your seatbelt on. Drivers side sensor chimes for the seatbelt too.

One of my favorite things about my KJ is that there is no "DING DING DING PUT YOUR FREAKIN SEAT BELT ON YOU IDIOT" noise ... when I get in. Don't know if the previous owner had it programmed out or if my little "under seat box" is damaged but I will gladly let sleeping dogs lie in this case :D

In advance, I realize I opened a potentially dangerous door when I posted the phrase "under seat box" ... keep it clean brothers and sisters ..lmao

Cheers All,
Luke
