Here's my farewell! My Jeep has just been sold. Unfortunately I have a growing family and the cost of running my Jeep is starting to cripple my families finances and I can't let my family suffer for my own pleasures!

In the UK diesel now costs £1.21 per litre which works about $9 per gallon. That combined with an annual road tax of £415 or $830 has priced me out of the 4x4 market (I will get back into it in a few years).

I'll drop in every so often, but I wanted you to know that I'm grateful for everything I've learned from you guys. This is a GREAT site.

Ian,

I don't blame you at all. I was just realizing how much regular (never mind diesel) is killing my bank account. I think almost everyone is starting to rethink their priorities with transportation. If I could rationalize the cost. I would get a more fuel efficient vehicle. In fact, I was touring the Ducati and Suzuki motorcycle dealers Friday, but simply dont have the inital $$$ right now. Anyways, although you don't have the Jeep, feel free to still hang around in the OT area or simply keep others informed. It's been nice having people from across the pond providing input.

I feel your pain, and wish you best of luck with your new vehicle, or public transportation. I know OIL is much worse in Europe.

All the best in your journey in life. It's been a slice.
What ever you do? Don't buy a new Mini... Get a classic instead! :D

I read on an English site last night that China will be debuting a new 4x4 in the UK sometime early next year. Their military uses them and it's basically a clone between a jeep cherokee and a Range Rover.
They claim it will sell for around $12500.00 US. Oh and a zero to 100 kmh of... Get ready for it... 28 seconds :D

Here is a militaty version: http://kingstar2004.en.alibaba.com/...pecial_vehicle/BAW_Military_jeep/showimg.html

(Cheers)
