Dreaming, thinking this http://www.octanemotorsports.com/m50/Suncoast-Ram-Air-Hoods/index.html?page=2&osCsid=f900awould make My kj stand out in the crowd, and make it look seriously "cool"

Does anyone have one of these? Besides looking cool what real benefit?
Functional ram air interesting, how does that work? Sensor to open scoop, air directly into throttle body? Would this help lower engine summer temps?

I've seen those hoods before. I don't really care for the way they look. I would much rather have a more traditional cowl induction hood, you know, where the opening is next to the windsheild. It would really blend in with the lines of the Liberty and appear "factory" since the Liberty already has a somewhat raised center section on the hood.

Liberty has 2 raised section (there's that long channel in the middle that divides them). I like it, but I don't think you could make a feasible CAI out of it. Have to see underneath.

Somewhere between being sane and insane!
Man I just want a stock looking fiberglass hood,at least I wouldn't have to replace it when I get hailed on again:mad:.Well at least the price on that hood is about $150 less then the original maker wanted.

Damn. Instead of getting mine painted, I would have gotten this. Although I would like to see a few more pictures, especially a few from a bit distance, not so much up close.

It looks good and gives it a less curvy look from the front, and it is much better without the jeep badge.

Is there a setup to actually duct the air to the airbox with that hood or what?

No, it will dump air right into a cone filter setup though. Originally, Terry was going to finish ducting it to make a true ram air, but with it working so well just by enlarging the opening in the bottom of the hood and dumping it into the K&N FIPK I had back then, and the lack of people buying them (just me), he never finished it as far as I know. He has since sold the mold to Suncoast.

Nope ....

<<< Why do you think I look so sad :D

If all the parts came in and everything goes well it should be this week.

Sorry to jack the thread but does anybody know if it is customary to get a detailed report of everything that is/was done in an insurance repair? I haven't asked yet but kinda need to insist if they don't offer it willingly!

I agree but I wouldn't have moved it to the bumper ... to each his own however

I don't see why not. As a consumer you have rights. Hell man, I'd want to know about every little thing the shop might have done, and did, so that I can figure out what they should have done but didn't. They have to send one to the insurer/adjuster right? Keeps them from being accused of fraudulent activity. I wouldn't leave until I got what I wanted. I'll tell all of you about the grill incident later.

Detailed shop reports are the norm down here, they pretty much do a detailed list of work needed just to get the estimate pushed through, then after that a detailed report for the customer to review before signing off on the check. It may not be the same up there i don't know, but here its get a check made out to the shop and the owner, both have to sign the check before it can be deposited or cashed.

Yeah, I agree with that. There is no reason to have any badge at all. I wouldn't cancel the rear doors either. :D
