Window regulator

i bought a liberty 2007 and have been busy changing all the fluids [auto trans -transfer case-front and back diff ..also changed sparkplugs ,,and WTF my left side rear window dropped down while i was driving down the road ..i had a new regulator installed at a garage $312.00 later everything was back to normal ..i later checked on E BAY i can buy a new regulator for $40 odd dollars ..i also saw that it's very easy to change ..[its a 30 min. job ]

all in all it's got a weak spot [window regulators] but a lot better than my CHEV COLORADO which was a mechanical nightmare with the 5 cylinder ATLAS motor ..

it's a head up ...order the parts and do the job yourself .lot cheaper than the dealer..

question is there a recall for the bad designed plastic window regulators ?????

The repair from the dealer didn't fix the issue which is the plastic part that attaches to the window. The dealer's repair even replaced the glass with a supposedly lighter piece of glass. Hahaha! I laughed at the service rep's face when he told me that at the time. I immediately walked out and did the repair myself with the Steiger kit.

I used the NAPA (Dorman) regulator. I'm sure the Steiger kit is high quality, but I went with the whole assy because 1) it's a quick swap, 2) I had it in my hands the very next morning, and 3) it has a lifetime warranty.
