Is it just me or is the Liberty one of the noisiest vehicles ever made when doors and windows are closed? Did Dynamat help anybody?

I'm running a Pioneer Double din w/XM, A/D/S PQ20, JL Audio JX250, Two Poenix Gold 10" subs and an Audio Control Electronic Crossover.

Keep in mind these vehicles were designed without factoring in a wind tunnel. Almost any older car will have significantly louder wind noise because they use thicker padding in the doors. When I ran all kenwoods in my doors and my 2 12 Rockford fosgate p1s I used foam on the edges of my door panels to stop them from rattling. You can find this at any Home Depot or lowes. It's nice and thick and pliable. Use it around the speakers too so you have less road noise. This seemed to help me tremendously. I'm very OCD with rattles in the cabin. Also dynomat will help A LOT. Take off the factory insulation and put the new dynomat on or put it over top the factory stuff your choice. You can also use cotton behind the foam in the door panels. Less sound will travel downward and give you a better sound. I've worked for 3 years trying to get the best sound and I think I've finally got it.

I hadn't noticed, actually. It's quieter than my Colorado was, and before that I had an XJ, so...

Compared to some sleek vehicles, the Liberty is a brick on wheels. You can't expect it to cut through air like an arrow. Breaking wind does create noise side-effects. ;)

Our liberty have some noise but its not that noticeable and to the point that its annoying. Might be depends on personal preference and tolerance on noise.

I'm not that old but did you drive anything from the 50's-early 90's? you want to talk about wind noise. my grand am might have been a little quieter, but it was alot rounder and had better door gaskets, but nothing like my old 86 d150, which had no carpet and the sparse work truck interior and also over 240k on it. remember these liberties are not rolls royces.

WHAT? I CANT HEAR YOU OVER MY LOUD, LEAKING EXHAUST!

It is not that loud at all for what it is. In fact, I think for a Jeep shaped like a cinderblock, it is actually quite quiet.

Compared to my 94 Grand Marquis.. yeah it's loud. Compared to my old 91-94 Ford Escorts... it's as quiet as a cathedral.

It's all relative. What are you comparing it to? If you're comparison vehicle is an Audi, Cadillac, Lincoln, or ANY new vehicle made in the last 5-7 years... that is not a fair match up.

I wouldn't say any. My Liberty is a lot quieter than my '12 Colorado was. That thing had wind whistles and all sorts of squeaks and rattles as you drove down the road.

only place i get wind noise in my 2005 is from the air coming thru the cowl as fresh air, the seal is more than likely gone bad. I will have to check mine the next time I have the cowl off to clean in there.
