Glad you're OK, and the JL seems OK too! Teslas and their tech are downright dangerous at times. Earlier this year my son was in his '91 Mustang on the highway heading to work. He was following behind a Tesla. A deer hopped across the median, and I guess with their accident avoidance technology it almost came to a complete stop in the left lane. My son wound up hitting the deer AND the Tesla. Mustang was totaled.
The problem with auto drive is it was designed by humans that don't know how to drive in the first place.:p

Been getting it from every direction this past week. Bad MAF in wifey's Subie not in stock anywhere local so have to wait for delivery (shocking, Outbacks normally don't break down). Bunch of family emergencies, and of course the weather turns to defecation right when the Solar Trickle charge system is delivered for the Jeep. Have an upgrade inverter to install too.

Hopefully I can tell the world to F off and do some relaxing Jeep work this weekend.

Still raining here, but the entire solar trickle system ready to install. Taking the Jeep in to have a "wrap" patch installed between the windshield bumpers. Was included with kit, but is critical to have for when the panel needs replacement.

Five states and 1k miles in 15 hours there. Five states, 1k miles and 13 hours back.
Had wifey, daughter, and all three pugs, plus everyone's gear and my worst case scenario load out.
A little hairy on the way back ( driving across Illinois) as also had a load of fire@rms I inherited.
Zero issues. Khan performed perfectly.

Spent a few hundred bucks doing my 150k maintenance. Detailed inside and out.
Driving "...the coolest Uber ever..." and raking in the tourist dollars for the College World Series. Took vacation days from the labs.

Even on RubiKhaaaan!'s gas mileage I'm making 700-1000$ a day. Time to do some upgrades!!!

Can I borrow $700-$1,000?

ROAD TRIP! ROAD TRIP! ROOOOAAAAAADDDD TRIIIIIIIIIP!

Headed east to finish up dad's estate, see my son, and get in some hiking and fossil hunting.

Not really a vacation, but I'll take it.

Will you get a little wheeling in while you’re traveling?

Drifted over here from the Liberty section to see what's up with the Wrangler folks. Still mulling over the idea of selling the KJ and finding a TJ

If I ever have to replace mine, I’d look for a TJ as well.

I guess TJ is Wrangler. Isn't the Wrangler the same thing as the Jeeps I remember as a kid? CJ5 and CJ7? I've often wondered that, and always thought that.

Can a bad intermediate shaft sound like a clunking under your feet as the Jeep goes over uneven roads? This noise started recently and is getting worse.

I have eliminated a number of other things and am still stumped.
- All new OME springs & Bilstein struts this summer
- All new front suspension bushings and ball joints (everything) in the last 2 years
- wheel bearings are good and 5 years old
- steering shaft U-joint had play so I replaced it a month ago
- steering rack bushings were toast so I replaced those a month ago with Creative Steel bushings
- front inner and outer tie rods were bad so I replaced those and got it aligned a couple of weeks ago.
- rear CV on front driveshaft had play so I removed the front driveshaft this morning to take it out of the equation.

Everything steering and front suspension related is new or new-ish and tight, per my careful inspection this morning. Lug nuts are torqued to spec.

The passengers side front CV axle seal is leaking and there is some up and down play in the plastic diff bearing that should not be there when I shake the CV axle up and down.

Motor mounts, transmission mounts, and front differential bushings are tired but still intact.

From my adventures this morning…

Trashed. The rubber boot was intact but the covers did not seal properly maybe.

This will be my third replacement of the rear CV of the front driveshaft in 232,000 miles. Easy to log into my DriveshaftParts.com account and re-order.

Not much grease left in there.

And as an FYI to KK people, this is in the way and has to be removed to get the front driveshaft out.
