Water pump gasket

Is the water pump gasket a one time use thing? I made a stupid move and removed my water pump because I thought the water inlet where the thermostat goes was part of the water pump. I put the water pump back on with the original gasket and torqued the bolts. At first it was OK but now the pump is leaking (not from the weep hole). Time for a new gasket?

imho, it depends on the condition of it but since gaskets are a cheap insurance, i would replace it.

Put a new one on and it seems to be good now. It wasn't exactly cheap. $18 for a felpro.
