Use factory satellite antenna with aftermarket radio?

Hi radio guys (and gals) - Is it possible to use my factory sirius satellite antenna with an aftermarket radio? I just ordered a Kenwood KDC-X996 and the add on SXV200V1 Satellite Radio Tuner. This is for a 2007 Jeep Liberty Sport with factory radio and satellite setup.

Here's a more detailed list of questions:

-Is is possible to reuse the antenna
-If possible, do I need a connection adapter and where can I find one.
-If not, is there a solution for replacing the permanent sat reciever on my roof?
-Any idea where the sat reciever is located?

Usually the Sat receiver is either built into the factory radio unit when part of the factory installation, or is a separate unit behind the dash or glovebox (not sure where it is on a KJ). The bump on your roof is an antenna, and as long as the connectors fit between the two (antenna cable and new receiver) and the cable is long enough you should be good to go. Otherwise go to Radio Shack for a mini coax connector adapter. If the cable is too short either make or buy an extension. You can also try online at TSS-Radio.com.

Love Fry's...totally forgot. Funny you mention it, Radio Shack was THE place to get parts, yet the last time I went in there I could hardly find the cool stuff. But (at least in my local store) they had a great parts bin selection for components and connectors. Online is better if you can wait a few days.

Glad yer trip was good and hopefully without too many dents.
