That is really weird that you're not getting a DRBIII to even read it. I literally have no ideas about that...I had a Grand Cherokee that did the same thing. Traded it off. :D
You have the 45RFE trans, I think those are checked in park after being driven for about 10 miles, check it after it's idled for a minute or more, with it running. Double check the manual.

It is a CRD Diesel..."It feels like the transmission stuck in the third gear!? No shifting"...
Is it a 4x4?
Drop it into first gear, is it less sluggish then?
Is something else binding .. or is the torque converter IDK...

That means you have a 45RFE trans, which it what all auto CRDs got I think.

Do you have a check engine light on? I guess what my question now is does the KJ recognize something is wrong and it just won't connect to a diagnostic tool or does the KJ not recognize anything that's wrong? Wish tjkj2002 would chime in, he'd be able to help with this one. Time to call in the big guns.

Torque converters give up in CRDs sometimes. There was an early recall on that.

Suncoast makes a stronger torque converter. Some have swapped to the "euro" torque converter which yours probably has, others installed a "hemi" converter. Much more info on this topic at LOSTJeeps.

If the TC is shot, it might be time to rebuild the trans, when my TC shit the bed it took the trans with it.

the 45RFE's limp mode is Rev + 2nd & 3rd , unlike the 42RLE which is rev + 2nd

since you say it's not shifting - it doesn't sound like it's in limp mode, and i have seen 45RFE's lose gears due to bent valve body cover plates and not generate any live codes

sonnax / transgo have accumulator cover plates or valve body rebuild kits depending on what ends up being needed

Are there no Jeep/Chrysler specialists, or transmission shops in your area in Germany? This sounds like it is beyond the scope of your above average home mechanic.

We have transmission shops... today i was there 3000€ for a transmission service with warranty...that was hard :(
Jeep or chrysler shops not in my town... only partnershops...

German forum gives me advice to change the in/output sensor and pressure sensor

I think its the cheapest solution and a bit hope...

Yeah, just short of opening up the trans and seeing if there's something wrong. I kind of wonder if you don't have what JeepinJarhead said.

I think JeepinJarhead might be right here. He usually is.

Just to clarify, the DRBIII is communicating with the Jeep but it just shows nothing wrong, correct? I'm leaning towards some mechanical issue that the computer doesn't monitor.
