Hello,

I'm the proud new owner of an '04 KJ. I was going through the stock list of parts that came with it and noticed it had 215's on it stock. However, the PO put 235's on it at 45k miles. I know this because of the receipt.

My question is...
How do i I know if my KJ has been programmed to know it is on 235s? Is there any way other than taking it to the dealer? I know it isn't a huge difference in size, but I'd like my speed and mileage to be as accurate as possible.

thanks,
-jordan

My 04 Sport came with 235-70s not that much difference, not enough to worry about. Actually when I went to 245-70-16s for a while the miles per hour were closer than stock
throw on what you want and don't worry about it

Same here - I had on 235/70's from the factory. I put on 235/75's and the speedo is actually more accurate. Speedo still reads slightly slow, but closer than off the showroom floor. I bet 245/75's would make it almost dead-nuts perfect on mine.

I am in the don't worry about it group
Ours came with the craptastic 235/70's that sucked
Put on 225/75's correct speed
Put on 245/75's speed was off ,drove slower

Dont remember what size tire came on the TJ
Right now it has 33's and the same speedo gear
TJ's are different in that department
For some reason when I do 70 mph
I am blowing past a lot of other cars and it is
vibrating like crazy
Probably because on GPS I am going right at 80ish
Oh and that is 3000 rpm ,for those who don't want
to regear because they fear more RPM

our liberty has 255 70 16s and reads pretty close to the GPS reading... the faster you go the slower the speedo reads though (say above 65)
