Lifespan on the batteries has been reaching the end slowly on all the tpm sensors. I've replaced 3/5 so far with no problems. I haven't touched the spare tpm sensor yet. Currently I'm getting the "low spare pressure" in the overhead info center every time you start the car. I've put the tire at 35 and 40psi with no fix and put back at 33psi and still no fix. Does this mean the sensor is bad? Is the procedure to replace the same as the 4 driving tires meaning replace the sensor, put the spare back on the tailgate and drive over 40mph for a while? Or is the spare treated differently?

You appear to have a sensor putting out an intermittent signal, so you probably have one that's got a low battery. I'd take it to a reputable tire shop, if they have a bar-tec tech400 or something better they can read battery life in the sensors.

My overhead clearly says "spare". Can I put a new sensor in the spare then drive around like the other 4 tires?

Put it in and drive it. If that don't fix it, then take to tire shop. What ya got to loose?
