Timing Cover Gasket

Hey all, I am putting a long block in a 2008 Liberty Sport 3.7 and am curious as to why there wasn't a gasket on the timing cover, except for the water jacket holes. I believe it is that way from the factory? I hate to put it on and have it leak but can't seem to find any information as to sealant or a gasket to fit the whole cover.

Fel-Pro makes a gasket for the 4.7L engine that will also work on the 3.7L. I used it and it fits perfect. Part # TCS46000
