Back in 2005, I needed a vehical badly, I was driving an 79' Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale 2dr. This thing sucked, It had no A/C or heater, Got about 12 miles to the gallon, and smelled like a 26 year old car.
I find this beautiful 02' Liberty setting at my local bank (a repo
), 48,021 miles, looked great except for my rusted factory steels. It looked like someone had used some kind of harsh cleaner on the wheels then blasted the paint off with a high pressure wash. Got it for $12,999; drove it away the next day.
Some time passes (sept. 07') and the ol' Jeep kinda lost her go-go. It was not hitting on the first 2 cylinders on the driver side. (1, 3 i think) Took her to 2 shops and 1 dealership with quotes from $2800 up to $8600. ($8600 will buy you a new chrysler 3.7 long block *installed*) Ended up buying a rebuild motor out of New Jersey off Ebay($2100 long block /w core exchange *free shipping*). The 'friend' that was putting this in for me took several months, the motor was at his house from October 28th till December 13th, When the Jeep finally would hold a steady idol.
I've since put some none rusted wheels, pulled a few tricks under the hood, and you can really fall in love with these trucks. They are a blast to drive, and if I had to buy another motor, I would.
Thanks for giving me a place to tell that terrible story.
(all is well that ends well)
