OMG...who stole your engine skidplate?????????? And I guess WJKJ went to all this trouble lying on his garage floor for...a 4x2 to 4x4 conversion....:p

Get a wrecked 4x4. Then you have all the parts.

Was I supposed to have one???

I don't mind getting under the KJ...I was dirty anyway....:D

I believe they are optional after '03...so...but you should get one if you ever want to go offroading. Mine has the scars to proove that..:D

Mine doesn't have the off road package...:(

When I go wheeling, I will definitely get the equipment...

Next set of tires will be General Grabber At2's....:D

as I read this it looks more like some one is wanting to turn the 2wd into a 4wd
things that people forget about
Transmission tail housing ,different on 2wd's
mounting brackets for shift linkage ,T-case
proper programing for trans and engine

The bottom line is this
you will spend more to convert than you will to sell the 2wd and buy a 4wd
even finding a wrecked 4wd may not be the end all
you will still need to do the install and it can have almost no front end damage
you need every part from the transmission tail shaft on down the line
even the drive shafts have to be in good shape
and the Jeep should have the same or less miles than yours
or you are asking for problems

Still less work to start with a four wheel drive vehicle.
I had a friend with a FWD Audi A4 and wanted to convert it to a Quattro...
Better off to start with a Quattro, then start modifying it!

Yeah...

However if you're doing a 4x4 conversion and already spending big bucks, why not go all out???:D

going to cost even more
still going to need the controls as if it were already 4wd
still going to need the trans stuff
T-case and drive shafts
going to need to then get the front axle
handle the steering issue
fab up control arm mounts and bracing to hold said mounts
control arms
then you need to gear match
and then......

Yes, it'll cost more by far.

But, you're going to have it ripped all apart anyway, so if it's in the budget, why not???

:D

If thats yours you need to check that boot. Looks like the boot is going bad which will allow the joint to go bad.

And I aint cleanin no bodies under body. :)

Would that be the inner or outer boot???

And we are talking about where the shaft exits the front of the Tcase...right???
