Has anyone tried doing something like this on their KJ? Can it work? I'm curious and think it would look REALLY good. Just not so sure if there is enough space, or if it would work with the side-swinging gate.

I'm referring to something like this...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUV-Truck-6...ty&vxp=mtr&hash=item415faf6503#ht_7472wt_1185

Ebay seems to think that the 60" is compatible with the 2004 Liberty...but I'm not too sure about this...

Also havn't really had the time to measure the gate. How much space is back there? Doesn't look to be 60 inches to the eye.

I don't see how it will work as the spare tire hangs down below the tailgate on the KJ

That too. I figured it could just chill behind it? Only because generally these things just chill on the bumper itself.

Just food for thought I guess.

What if you put it up front? I know it would be weird to have reverse lights looking forward, but it could be an interesting look. Put a little curve to the lights and you've got a smile!

red lights on the front of a vehicle are a big no-no in most states (I got an impersonating an emergency vehicle ticket once in NC for red Neon UNDER my car :pp: )

I did it but it just comes on with the brakes no signals. I installed it just below the door. The spare blocks it in the center but I don't really care.

I think I'm gonna do it. You just have to wire it to the tail light assembly, correct?

Lot of money to be able to see only a foot or so on each side. If you want to do something like that do two strips a foot each on each side.
Personally I wouldn't but .......like clear turn signal lenses etc its up to you

Yeah I guess I'm into that stuff. I have the smoked signals and different tail lights (personally, I like the tail lights A LOT better for off-roading, because if it's dark, the reverse lights are SOOOO much brighter). And the price doesn't bother me. It's not too bad and you still seem to get full functionality out of the piece.

I agree it's expensive.... but I own my LED business so it didn't cost me anything to add LEDs everywhere in and on my Jeep.

I don't have any pics but I'll try to get some tomorrow night.

You could mount it to the rear headliner. You will need some kind of flashback shield if you dont want to go blind inside.
