My Liberty has about 212,000 miles on the seats now and the driver side has seen better days, particularly the door side bolster had broken and was digging into my thigh. I got the idea to swap the seat bases R to L and vice versa and took several hours to do it a few weeks ago and it works. It appears to me they're identical and the only difficulties were unclipping the four sides and clipping them back in. I used a trim screwdriver type tool with an angled blade instead of a straight screwdriver and that really helped pull the clips off, but if you have a junky old flat blade screwdriver you can bend the first inch or two to about a 15* angle which might help you. After putting on 2500 miles after having done it, I'll say that it was definitely worth the time and effort if you have a high mileage vehicle like mine!
