Super strange problem. Don't know what to do. HELP

I should start with my theory, the battery. May be wrong though.
So for a while now we knew the battery was pretty bad. Recently though, the ignition actuator has been having quite a bit if trouble. Now this will be hard to explain so listen up, lots of details going in...
When you turn the key to ACCESSORY, it's fine, electrics come on, radio, lights everything. When you turn it again for on, the key goes but the car doesn't turn On. Only the radio dims, the dash lights barely dim. You can feel a little force pushing the key back to ACC position. I then let go, and turn it again and it starts fine.
Now that I explain all that I'm starting to think it isn't the battery.
But before, to fix it I would turn it to accessory, wait a few seconds, and it'll start fine. But today it got really bad. It rooms me 4 turns to ON to get it started. Which didn't fair well for me cause I needed to make another stop and I was in an unfamiliar part of town. So, I just went home.

I'm now completely confused by this phenomena, which is now one of 4 things wrong with my Jeep.

A load test should be performed on the battery. It will either pass or fail.

If you can charge the battery overnight then do load test that would be best.

What is the battery voltage first thing in the AM after sitting all night? Volts should be 12.6.
A free load test can be performed at any battery store/wallmart auto center or Can tire.
Also check the voltage output when Jeep is running.

SO get the battery sorted out, make sure there is no corrosion on terminals and everything is tight too..
Then onto the ignition switch it may be faulty but see how Jeep does once you know if you have a good battery or not.

^ Agreed. You can't know anything nor test anything unless you can bet your life that the battery is healthy and in a good state of charge.

After that, consider that the ignition switches and lock cylinders are known to occasionally have issues... start looking at that. I'd put a test meter on the output wires from the ignition switch... see if I had 12v power where I should or not.

just take the battery to a parts store to be tested.

a bad battery can ruin your electronics if you keep at it.

does it still do it if you leave the key at the first stop until the dinging stops? most of them, whether there's anything wrong with them or not will fail to energize the ignition if you throw the key forward before the 2nd ding is done
