i finally got all of the transmission leaks fixed, warped pan, and leaking line pressure sensor (45RFE)
i replaced the sensor with one from carquest and i am not sure if it is the cause of the problems or not...

after taking a longer drive, on the highway, for a couple of hours or so, when we get into town the jeep shifts odd...

it seems like it skips second gear and goes straight to 3rd.
and does not like to downshift to accelerate either.
but if you shut it down and go to drive the next day it is fine...

it has the napa brand ATF+4, fluid level is correct...
and the fluid and filters are fresh...
any ideas? didnt have the problem until around the time i switched the line pressure sensor, but i dont know if that is the problem or not. i can try swapping the old one back but it leaks

we did have the fluid topped off at a transmission shop after it leaked a lot before replacing the sensor, if they did not put in atf+4 would it cause this?

Maybe it's just the computer shifting at weird times? Did you get the computer reset lately? That might solve your problems. Your CVI numbers could be slightly out of whack due to the changes that recently occurred on your transmission. Just figured it might be the first thing you want to get done.

the shop is a friend of my wifes parents, she said that she told them ATF4...they are a good shop i think they put the right stuff in...

last time it did this i unhooked the battery for 30 min and it was fine...but then it came back on that last trip.
i could not get it to repeat this on the way home...
