hey guys, we have an 05 auto 4x4 limited and i can feel vibration through the steering wheel. It only seems to happen at about 30-40 mph, under light acceleration. Any ideas what this could be?

My first guess would be that the tires need balancing and/or an alignment...relatively cheap fix if that's all it is, I think I paid about $65 for mine.

I would have the two front wheels checked for even tire wear, and rotate them if necessary, to get the best two tires up front, and have them balanced.
Once a year the kj should receive a front wheel alignment, and ask them to also check the wheel bearings and ball joints, overall a front end check before the alignment.

Check the Rotors as well, had the same issue and it was due to warped Rotors!

That won't cause a vibration.

Soo, a blown shock won't cause vibration??? You have never had the "death wobble", very common in XJ's and Land Rovers. Typically this type of vibration is after hitting a pothole or bump in road, but like I said don't rule it out in this case.

Salty, you're thinking of a steering damper - and we're also dealing with an independent front suspension that is not death wobble prone like a ZJ, XJ, CJ, Rover, whathaveyou.
