Stalling after loose gas cap

About a week ago I filled my tank. The attendant didn't tighten the gas cap enough. My check engine light came on. I checked the code. It was P4055. I tightened the cap and the engine light went off. Now my car stalls when I come to a stop. Could this still be a gas cap problem or just a coincidence? I'm panicking because I don't have a lot of money to fix a big issue.
I've read every thread I can find on the issue. I don't see any problem with the hoses.. Help please.

A loose gascap will not cause stalling.
