My 05 Liberty with 3.7L has a speedometer needle that bounces while accelerating, when the vehicle has not reached operating temperature. Very obvious when entering the interstate. It'll go back and forth while I accelerate and then go from like 60 to 70 to 65 etc back and forth. If I let off the gas it jumps up to the actual speed.

Cruise control also does this at any time, hot or cold. I set it at 70 and it accelerates to 75 immediately and then drops to 65 and then goes back up to 75 and so on. Any ideas what's going on here? Thanks!

I'm guessing the wiring to the rear diff for the speed sensor is shot.

Just replaced mine in December. I ended up popping it out through the inside of the diff. The sensor was stuck good and brittle
