What year KJ? Makes a difference for the speedo. If you have a '02-'05 KJ then the speedo is controlled via the speed sensor on the rear diff and I have a fix for that if you do not want to keep the weak 8.25 in the rear but means you must change the t-case also.If your unlucky enough to have a '06 or '07 KJ then your SOL as it uses the ABS speed sensors which there are 4(1 on each wheel).Your going to spend some $$$(or be stuck with weak parts) to keep ABS if you have that also and if you choose to delete ABS you must tell your insurance company for legal reasons. So I take it there is one?
Speed sensor in the front diff makes a junk yard front axle conversion... not likely.
'02-'05 the speed sensor is in the rear diff,'02-'05's with ABS have ABS wheel speed sensors on each front wheels that do not have anything to do with the speedo."06 and '07 KJ's have a speed sensor on each wheel.I'm worried about how the transfer case disperses power. If it operates off of a speed sensor in the front diff, then you can't throw in a junk yard axle.
For the 02-05 is there one in the front diff also? For the 06 plus, where are they at each wheel?

No speed sensor in the front diff. The t-case in a KJ is mechanically operated and has zero effect on the speedo and the speedo has zero effect on the t-case.
