I sport my tire cover during football season and randomly throughout the year. When I go to 235/85R16 I will be probably unable to put it on anymore. If your spare is too big, off. If you don't match, on. If you do match then you should be rotating your tires with the spare for longevity. If you have a special aftermarket tire cover then well duh.

Off.... The UV argument is bull... The other four tires are seeing as much UV exposure as the spare is, and they also see a lot more heat and expansion and contraction from use. I hit my tires with a tire cleaning product at least a couple times a year, whatever is your favorite use it, but just make sure it has actual protection properties and not just one of those cheasy tire shine products. Its more of a rubber conditioner/protectant than just making it look good.

As for rotating... I have never rotated in the spare on any vehicles i have owned. I was on the fence about it for a while with the KJ, but i'm going to leave the spare unrotated.. Why? Well the one time i did this, my old S10, i must have picked up a small nail and didn't know it and that tire ended up as the spare after rotation, and then when i needed my spare it was half flat... Yeah i know i should have been watching the spare tire pressure but i hadn't checked my tires in about a month and then i got the flat and found out i had a half flat spare.

I know there is lots of arguments towards including the spare in the rotation as well.. i just haven't been able to make myself do it. I just got new tires on, i will go a little longer yet before my first tire rotation on those, and then i will decide if i should include the spare. The only thing is the other four will already have some wear, so putting on the spare now will have one tire with no wear, and i have seen on here time and again about how the tire wear affects the 4wd shifting out. I guess i could put it on the back but then i have a slight difference in traction back there also.

I don't know....

I vote on. Helps the tire to last longer. I take it off like when i go off roading / pulling a trailer or something so it doesn't get damage. i have the Molded Jeep tire cover. It cost me $100 bucks for the tire but it's nice and matches my body color. I check my car domain page on the signature below to check it. out.

My spare is still the stock Wrangler HP...most people wouldn't notice that, but reason enough to leave mine on.

Mine is off, I switch to my off road tires and rims to street tires and rims 6 or 7 times a year and broke the zipper. so I just left it off.

Off.

Used to have one when I ran a stock tire, but once I got the bigger tires the cover wouldn't fit... AND I liked the look of the tire better.

About 30K miles ago at 72K the right rear Wrangler SRA went flat leaving Anchorage at about 7 PM at around 0 degrees F. Could not get the cover off without tearing it. Snow had blown up inside the cover, and the Liberty had been in my friends shop for an oil change. Snow went to slush and froze after I pulled out. Cover was well frozen to the spare all around the tire. An Anchorage cop helped me change it out after I got the cover off. Even if it would fit my BFG TA KOs once it was repaired, NO way would I put it back on! And I goy 72 K from the SRA's WITHOUT rotating. Anyone need an SRA with less than 200 miles on it? Drive North!

Off and when i took it off 8 months ago, spiders had en entire web connections in there, previous owner never done anything with it neither even washed it and or remove cover. So OFF it is and even there, took a while to take it off since it was so darn tight up there ... imagine on the side of the road fighting a cover to get it off so you can get to the darn tire ... lol

On for me. Only really because the dealership I bought the Jeep from got shut down by Chrysler. It was the oldest, most profitable, IMO best Jeep dealership in my neck of the woods and I'll support them as long as their doors are open.
