Spare Tire bracket bolts seized...

Not my picture but mine look just like this. I am ordering new ones to replace this crap. Problem is that they are seized up and the 1/4 ends strip on the socket.


Any good way to get these off other than a torch and an extractor? I actually got just one off and it had blue loctite on the threads. not good...help if anybody else has been through this, thanks!

Some heat from a torch and a pipe wrench got these bolts out.

Some heat from a torch and a pipe wrench got these bolts out.

A bit of heat will soften the threadlocker. You can also use the double nut (jamming two nuts together) to loosen the studs.

Do these come out from the inside of the back gate or do you get them out from the side in the picture? thinking about doing this soon
