I had a ScanGauge II in an old Toyota many years ago. I like data and it was cool to follow all of the information available. It's also nice to be able to check and clear codes if need be. The ScanGauge II right now is about $150.00. The smaller ScanGauge-e is $95.00 at Amazon. The smaller unit offers two gauges per screen rather than four. It's also a little smaller and has only one spot to plug the data cable in - this limits mounting options. Anyhow, I picked up the smaller one and put it in the Jeep today. I put up a quickie YouTube video of it for anyone that is interested. (My 2004 didn't come with the EVIC) I haven't programmed it for all it can do yet. Just MPG at the moment.

I've had mine for a while now and comes in handy with instant MPGs and average. I've noticed air to fuel ratio and transmission temp doesn't work.

Here's where I got mine. The cable is no longer exposed, it's nicely tucked away now.

I almost put mine there too. Good spot.

Cable you see is for the GPS
keep taking it out so don't have the cable hidden
But the Scan gauge cable comes up through the dash and is hidden
This was taken two weeks ago, not bad average mileage for a Heavy Heep
and yes windshield has been cracked for over a year
