Let me first say... This is a great place to get information. Thanks!

Me: 2007 new to me. As I am waxing it for the first time today... I seem to have a satellite radio pod on the roof-top. Then after re-reading my build-sheet... It lists a factory satellite radio. It seems the radio was swapped out.

So... How/where can I get a swap-back to a satellite radio?

Thanks all!

clapper, do you have the factory or aftermarket head unit?

It may be in your best interest, if it's an aftermarket unit, to call Crutchfield (www.crutchfield.com) and ask them if there are any adaptors for OE Sirius-to-aftermarket HUs.

OK, you should have everything you need for satellite radio then. Not sure how to activate it on the OEM stereo.

You have to call Sirius with the ESN no...

http://www.justforjeeps.com/ausisarasy2.html

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: How do I access my 12-digit ESN/SID Number?
A: With the ignition switch in the ACCESSORY position and the radio OFF, press the Tape Eject or CD Eject (depending on the radio type) and Time buttons simultaneously for four seconds. The radio will display all twelve (or four of the twelve) digits at one time. If only four digits are displayed press the SEEK UP button to display the next four digits. Continue to press the SEEK UP button until all twelve ESN/SID digits have been displayed.

Q: What if I have questions or technical difficulties?
A: Sirius Customer Care assistance is available 24 hours a day, either through a toll-free number at 1-888-539-7474 or via the website at www.sirius.com

Right, plus the 12.50 or whatever a month.

ThunderbirdJunkie just gets billed every 3 months for like 38 bucks so he's not sure how much it costs for you mere mortals :)

I pay about $142 a year, get 1 month free for that. I hear you can deal with Sirius, they want your business bad. I am trying that at renewal time.

Satellite Radio Replacement? DO OR DO NOT

The Jeep/Mopar folks tell me that I have a factory installed/ready satellite radio. But I'll be darn if I can figure out how to activate it! The Sirius folks instructed me to hit the mode button 4 times to get the radio ID; 4 times and nothing. Also, I'm getting odd/funny displays for treble/bass: And can't get any of the knobs/buttons to adjust the treble/bass either. Bad unit? Wrong unit? Who knows! Off to the dealership tomorrow for their "expert" help!

Or you could buy a Sirius Stiletto 2 like I've got in mine and just mount it to the dash--portable radio ftw =D

I would go the used route if you can find one and they will assure you it will work proper for more than 30 days. Or get an aftermarket radio with satilite from crutchfield. they are good to deal with and can fix you up with something good that will sound great. I have bought several from them.

I have an RB1 radio in my Jeep now but it didn't include sirus so I have a Stratus 5 docked below the HVAC controls and wired direct to the power and FM. My set up works great in place of a factory installed set up.

I pay my sirius sub in 2 payments a month apart. like $70 something each payment totals about 142 for the year.

Just a footnote guys, I have a Sirus radio within the radio of my 2010 Patriot and it doesn't have the neat features or the that I have in my Delphi Xpress. I miss it :( Maybe I'll keep it and leave the Sirus radio off.

Radio Model Numbers?

There are some real nice, similar in looks and model numbers on eBay. How can I find out what radio model numbers fit my 2007 Sport? Thanks!

I'd buy a stand alone Sirius Radio. They all now use docking stations. So you can easily swap it out between the vehicles if you drive more than one vehicle like me (My KJ and my work Van.)

I haven't read the posts on this thread but at the glance it looks like your having some trouble with the factory radio and it would be cheaper to buy the stand alone setup and then the factory radio. Not sure if you can use the the sat. antenna that's already on the KJ. That would be nice if you could.
