Rusty's 2.5" Coil Lift Installed!

hey guys!
haven't really posted in a while but just wanted to share the good news. i went with Rusty's 2.5" coil lift and i am very pleased. don't fret, i will post pics as soon as all the rain and t-storms subside.
I need some input from you all though...I went with the black crager 8's for my wheel selection but i am still debating a good set of rubber. I love the look of a m/t but i am going to go with a good a/t tire due to the practicality of them.
I like the bfg a/t, firestone destinations a/t, and the michelin atx ltx a/t2. any other suggestions?? also size, i was thinking 245/70or75/16.
thoughts and suggestions would be much appreciated...

i have pirelli scorpion ATR's. some people said i made a mistake getting them but my truck ride and handles better in all conditions and i havent gotten stuck with them yet. i back these 100%. and they weren't too expensive over all

I run the Rusty's spring lift too, and when it came to choose tires I looked at alot of them. It finally came down to what was the most practical for me. I wanted the MT/R's or Maxxis BigHorn's. But in the end I went with the BFG AT/KO's in the 245/75/16 size. I drive my KJ 90% on the street, so a good AT tire was the best all round fit for me. Now, you got to answer the same question, What are the driving conditions you are going to be in the most?

With the 245/75's I do get rub on the front pinchwelds, and when at full stuff on the rear, the rears do rub on the front of the rear fenderflairs. I run Moabs on mine, and with the 8" rim it gives me a little more stability on the highway.
Plus the noise that a good MT tire produces on the blacktop is a factor as well.
All in all I am very happy with the BFG's. Now if I had an extra set of MT's for my spare rims that would be sweeeeeeeeeet.

if you haven't gotten it yet, the General Grabbter AT2 is almost identical to the Goodrich AT's, and MUCH cheaper. I have about 7k on mine thus far and they are wearing well. I am pleased.

As I drive mine 99% on the road, I think next time around I'll go with the Rough Countries or sometime. Like the AT2's, but there are a little noisy at 30-35 mph and may be overkill for what I do.

Hey Atrus, what exactly do you have for the .75 Rusty's spacer? Poly under front springs? I read your post way back on what exactly it was, but I don't remember now.

I thought he was trying to do a cheap lift and did and extra rear iso or two and the Rustys front poly .75" spacer, yes it goes under the coils

I cant remember what he gained though I want to say it was about 1.5" front and 1" rear and it should be sitting level or close to now

After some research, good suggestions from you guys, and evaluating of my options, I think the best way to go for me is a Rusty's coil Lift.

Has any of you heard of a discount thru a KJ club or this forum?

What makes this the "best way" for you?
Remember that the rear shocks are junk ,well they are not made for a KJ
so while it is $465 I think they knock what $50 off if you dont get shocks
That puts you at $415 for coils and struts
a quick search showed that All J's had OME springs for $305 for all 4 and
Rancho struts for $170 for the pair
That makes this set up $475 only $60 more than the Rustys set up but a much better quality spring
Now add the Ranch shocks ,again from All J's and that puts the OME/Rancho set up at $605 only $140 more but much better quality
now if you really shop the net you can find the OME/Rancho stuff within $100 of the Rustys stuff
So why is the Rustys kit a better choice?
I know that some claim 0 issues I call BS ,denial, the font is sagging
I have also had customer service issues with Rustys

I liked how you put everything together but I would have a hard time trying to add all the components and hoping they are the right parts. Nevertheless, that sounds like the FrankenLift Components... Are those the ones in this link?

The thing is OME is sold by a bunch of places so if you price shop you can find springs in the $100-$150 per pair range
Rancho is the same way shop around and you can find the shocks/struts on the cheep as well
The springs in the Rustys lift are know to sag ,some just will not admit it
My wife has OME med springs with Rancho struts and OME standard shocks on the rear we found the springs for $100 a pair and the shocks were $35 each we paid $80 each for the struts
That put us at $430+ shipping and install ,could have saved on the install but we just figured it was worth it to let some one else deal with it I am lazy
With that set up we can clear 245/75 MTR's on OE wheels
Shop around and you can get better quality for less money

well hard to say really as we had some BAD sag on the OE springs but from where it was the day I had it done she gained about 2 1/2" and we are not at
2 1/4 or so after 20K

Go OMEs I did and would do it again in a heart beat, after 70,000 miles not one problem! Oh and with a small clevis , Heavy Duty springs I am at 3 inches to this day

I'll admit it. My front springs sagged like a ****. I have a 3ring clevis and rusty's strut plates to compensate for the sag. Other than that i like it. The ride is great. If i had to do it again OME HD's!!

Everyone has opinions about what they believe to be "the" lift for your Liberty. I got in on one of the very first Rusty's lift group buys about a year and a half ago. I opted for the OME shock upgrade and have been more than pleased with the performance it's given me. Works well for everyday city/highway chores as well as negotiating the trails I drive in the Rocky mountain region. Define your mission and choose accordingly...........

you can shop around and get the springs cheaper, do not be fooled by those saying the Rustys is the end and best out there for the money, they will sag over time! PERIOD! OME Heavy Duty are great, 70,000 on mine with an ARB bumper and still riding high. I wiuld run a Daystar spacer lift before I would do a Rustys lift

plus the rustys will ride similar to how it is stock and by going with the OME you will have a much better ride and the same amount of lift for not much more

define your mission

choose good quality products the first time so you do not have to go back and redo. Rustys have the same spring rate as stock...now is that an upgrade? don't think so

and just for the record I have installed 2) Rustys kits, 3) OME Heavy Duty spring/ Rancho shock (including mine) and 1) Frankenlift so far so have experience with each. Took a guy for a ride in mine yeaterday and going to install OME/ Rancho on his as well end of the year

Amen to that.....

If you are patient enough you can also find the parts used, I found my front and rear shocks through L.O.S.T and JKJ. (I'll probably be one of the few that is going to run the KONI front struts, I'll let you guys know how they work out.)

Then I just missed out on Tom's surpluss OME 927's (banghead), I now found a pair in Australia through AJOR. ( Aussie KJ forum ). Finding the 927's over here for $150 a set would be a dream, the going rate here is $175 EACH!

Complete OME set for your KJ would set you back $1332 in parts alone

when I did mine in early 05 did the whole lift, springs/shocks for less than 5 bills, glad I did it when I did
