What do I do now? Get in there and grind it out?

Grind it to bare metal, use sand able high build primer and paint it. Problem solved.

Agreed but I like that rust converting primer. Used it a few times on different projects and seems like extra insurance in tight spots if you can't get it all to bare metal.

Sorry I forgot to mention that. It's called rust inhibitor
