RTV cure time?

What's the average amount of time you guys wait on the rtv to dry before filling the transmission back up?

I have always used a gasket with RTVon any vehicle. That said, only maybe 15-20 minutes.

If no gasket used, I'm of no help, other than it should be on the RTV tube or package somewhere for the dry/cure time.

For diffs I usually do the RTV, hand tighten bolts, wait a half hour then final torque.

Some of the rtvs say 24 hours before filling. I let mine sit over night. I think some guys only wait a couple of hours.

Thanks guys, I tightened down then set for an hour and tightened them up. I used the black rtv and it'll be 8-10 hours before I'm back home to finish up so it should be good by then to fill up it sounds like.
