Renegade Roof Rails Removal... Anybody Got Experience?

I have an 05 Renegade and I'm about to install a aftermarket roof basket rack. I want to put 4 KC 100w Daylighters on the rack, I was thinking I could drill a hole in the plastic base of the roof rails and seal it with silicone then drill another hole in the roof near the base mounting holes, but I can't figure out how to get the base off, does anybody know how?

Well, drilling the hole in the roof, follow the instructions on installing the OE light-bar, but do your own thing with WHERE to drill the hole, and mount lights. You have light bar wire harness in the driver side "A" Pillar, then all you need is the dash piece with the switch. With using the OE harness and switch, the dash panel indicator for the light bar will illuminate when you turn them on.

As far as removing what you need, find the factory service manual. If you have space in your Email, about 150k, let me know and I will send you the .PDF file you need.

The lightbar wiring it seems is only on some export KJ's only,no one in the US has had that wiring already there.If you add the wiring it will not turn on the dash light.

There was another post here, that said the harness is in the "A" pillar... I was going by that, and that the user manual says the Jeep is wired for forward, something or other...

Yep that was Fouros and his is a export KJ since he is located in Australia.Many have looked on there's here in the US but they are not there unless you already have a Renegade with the lightbar already.

well, what i want to do is take my stock renegade bar off the drivers side so i can figure out how to wire the lights, does anyone know how to do that?
