Remote start

Yes I searched (most I found are old threads with dead links) but being technology involved I just wanted to see what is the easiest/ best bang for the buck remote start I can but to install on my 2002 jeep?

I know I will need an interface module for the chipped key.

Can Anyone help me with links? I can have it installed for $260 but figured I'd just buy the parts and do it myself to save some $

All I need the remote start to do is start the jeep. I dont need an alarm or anything like that

I have this one installed on my 03 (no chipped key) really cheap and works for what I wanted it for (start the jeep from inside the house) easy to install and operate. this if a one way remote so the only way to know the car started is to check through the window or listen for the idle. there are 2 way remote starters that will show on the remote is the car successfully started but I do not like the bulky remotes. if money is not a problem then just get one with cell connection.

when I did the wife's stratus I ordered the Mopar OEM kit. Was an almost complete plug and play move (only had to pull one wire into the engine bay to pick up a tach signal from the injectors.) Ordered as 2 kits...

it looks like 82208863AG is the correct kit for a 2002-2007 liberty but I'd do more research to confirm. I've found both part numbers available on different web sites.
Expect your total price to be $350 or more.

I am putting in a ready remote next week. I had installed it in my wife's van and ripped it out before they took it for junk. I had to get an add on for it which requires a chipped key that is programmed to the vehicle to placed in it. Then that has a piece that goes around the key cylinder that tricks it to think the key is there. If I get a chance I will get the model numbers off it for you. It is older and I think the company that made it has been bought out by auto command. I know I bought the starter kit at Target and the key transponder unit off eBay.

well for $350 I will just take it to a local place which quoted me $260 for everything installed

I semi-agree, in that the more expensive route is with all OEM equipment, designed to work with your vehicle. Not some generic piece that has to be hacked into the wiring.
