I just wanted to know if Libbys came out of the factory with really hard rear shocks or not. It just seems like a really rough ride. I go over speed bumps at work daily. The front axle handles them fine but the rear goes over them and everything in the back of the Jeep bounces hard, lol.

Most short base 4x4 vehicles will offer a stiffer ride.
Rear passengers often complain in my KJ with the worn stock configuration.
I feel the OEM shocks & springs are bagged within 2 years.
As I am about to replace both front & rear coils with OME and Bilstein shocks....
It is about to get tougher, but hopefully have a better rebound softening the overall ride.
At first it will be real stiff and hopefully within a few months settle in with medium rear and heavy duty coils up front.
It will never ride like a longer wheel base 4x4 though, but they can't do the tight turning radius like the KJ either.

Stock mine rode like a road wagon I thought even brand new, could not wait to lift it and install better shocks and springs. Now its way better over speed bumps, curbs, everything

It is not just the shocks. Poor springs too. It is the OEM combination that makes them ride poor. Replace both the springs and shocks and you will see a world of different. Better ride all around.

The one I just bought seemed to have a lot nicer/non firm ride in the rear. Most of the ones I test drove you could feel every road bump in your chest when trying to talk, but my sport seems a little softer, worn shocks? Trim level/different suspension? Don't ask me but that's actually what sold me on this one.
