Power lock making a loud, annoying buzz when used.

When I push the power unlock there's this very loud buzz type sound. It was only happening when I hit unlock but now it does it both lock and unlock. No noise when used manually and the lock functions fine using power. It's just a loud screechy buzz, and I mean loud. The lock isn't slow or anything. Works just fine. Has anyone experienced this? Any ideas what it could be? I would think a bad power motor woul run slow or not work.

what year is your Jeep? Call or drop by the dealer.
Lock solenoid on fritz probably needs replacement, but I remember something about reprogramming & or a recall for locks in the back on my mind..
or maybe I'm on the fritz....:happy175:

It's an '02 sport.

It may be on it's way out. Mine would buzz and not unlock when i first got my jeep. Check the screws holding it for tightness. To solve my issue i just went to a jy and got a replacement.

My Drivers side door lock actuator has been doing this for a couple years. Just never got around to opening up the door to check it out. The lock knob doesnt always move the full range, so sometimes I need to help it by hand.. kinda annoying.
