Same thing can be done with mspaint as well, without installing anything, but mspaint saves jpegs with jagged edges due to poor compression rate.

Download and install, let it create shortcuts on your start menu.

After installation is finished, go to Start/Programs/Irfan View/Irfan View X.XX and start it up.

Once on the screen, hit character C or go to Option, Caption/Screenshot.

You don't need to change anything, click START! and whenever you are ready to capture the screen, hit CTRL+F11

As soon as you hit CTRL+F11 it will capture it and show you, you will just draw a rectangle around (Select) what you want to save, and hit CTRL+Y (this will CROP that section, and discard the rest) or Edit/Crop Selection.

Now you can go to File.. Save As.. Select either PNG with Compression 6 or Select JPEG with Quality at least %80.

Save it to your desktop with the name you want, head over to the site and reply to the topic you want. Scroll down and find "Attach Files" click on Manage Attachments.or

You head over to imageshack.us and upload it there and use the appropriate link to post the picture here.or

If you are using FireFox, you get ImageBot extension, and upload and get links very easily from ImageShack without even visiting their website.
