I just bought this 2003 Liberty Rocky Mountain Edition (Freedom Edition):
Decent body, great mechanical, but I have a few questions that I'm having trouble finding answers to:
Front disc brake backing plates -- The guy doing the inspection says these are missing, but I can't find a link or part number anywhere. I've watched youtube videos of people repairing front brakes, and none of them have the backing plates. 2008+ Libertys have them, but can anyone point me in the right direction for the '02-07's?
Door hinge pins -- I did my Grand Cherokee twice and it was easy... Nobody seems to carry pins or bushings for the Liberty. Do I have to get the whole hinge? It's just for the driver's door, and it's really just the lower hinge that wobbles. Think I could just cut the edge off a washer and jam it in there or something?
There's only one key, so I might be stuck paying $40 to get another one programmed to the Jeep. The manual says that installing an auto-starter might mess up the immobilizer system, and this Jeep has one. I might spend the $3 and get a chipless key cut just to keep in my wallet for lockouts... I'll let you know if it works.
That's all I can think of for now -- Thanks in advance!
