Check with the local places you trust and get a quote. See what you think about the price they give you and decide if you want to try it yourself or not. I wouldnt get a flush if they ask, just drop the pan and get the filter changed.. Be sure they use ATF+4 fluid!

Some people say a flush is good and some say its bad... so I just drop the pan...

Flushing is really only bad on higher mileage ******'s....as it tends to break down the stuff thats actually holding it together.

The trick is to flush them early, and flush them often....to stay one step ahead of the crap, and prevent it from building up.

How many miles do you have at the moment?

Dropping the pan isnt something thats hard, but its something new if youve never done it before. Its best to get the filter from a dealership..

Basically you just take all the bolts out and leave a few in but loosened. Pop the pan loose and slowly take the remaining bolts out so the fluid will slowly pour out. Once the pan is off, you must clean all the old rtv/gasket off both the pan and ******. Take the filter off and put the new one on making sure it seals good. If it doesnt, you ****** will not shift and will slip.. I use a gasket but many people just use the RTV. Put a nice thin bead around the pan and line the holes up making sure not to smear the RTV around. tighten all the bolts to proper spec(anyone know what that is?). I usually wait around an hour or so before filling her back up to make sure the RTV has set up good..

Ive heard it take 5 quarts, but I put in around 4.5 then check the level and go from there.. Its easier to put more in than it is to get it back out. And dont ask, I just did that this past weekend..
