YES!!!! Doing so is NOT. Anytime transfer is in neutral with gear shift not in park the output shaft of the ****** is spinning like a SOB. Cramming her in any transfer position is gonna take a toll!:badidea:

Put the ****** in Neutral while coasting very slowly (2 to 5mph) and move the t-case lever from neutral to 4HI to 2WD.

Moving the t-case handle from 4HI to 4LO you do the same. Put the trans in Neutral while moving 2 - 5mph and in one motion move from 4HI through Neutral to 4LO. You'll hear some grinding as the teeth in the transfer case mesh but that is perfectly normal.

Moving from 2WD to 4HI you can simply move the handle while moving up to 55mph. Of course only drive in 4HI on slippery surfaces - NEVER drive on high-traction surfaces like wet roads.

The manual says to do it the way TwoBobs mentioned. My jeep likes closer to 5mph, and it's as smooth as butter.

Sent from my G870a on 38's.
